Police warn public to beware of wildlife on roadways

(Fort Frances, Ontario) In the early morning hours of October 21st, officers from the Fort Frances Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police arrested a male driver in the 900 block of Eighth Street West. Kelly Calder, age 44, of Fort Frances has been charged with Operation of a Motor Vehicle with a Blood Alcohol Concentration over 80 Milligrams. Calder has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on November 20th.
The Ontario Provincial Police would also like to remind motorists to be attentive for wildlife when traveling on area roadways. Deer and moose are foraging for food in close proximity to the roadways, so motorists should pay special attention and drive accordingly.
